At Community College of Beaver County, we want to be sure we’re doing everything we can to meet our students’ educational needs. That’s where our Advisory Committees come into play.
Made up of employers and representatives from the community with real industry experience, CCBC’s Advisory Committees provide feedback on issues such as curriculum content, quality and currency of programs, equipment needs, graduate performance, and potential employment opportunities.
Committees are created for each of our vocational programs in order to serve and assist the program in meeting the needs of the community in a manner that’s consistent with the college’s vision, mission, values, and goals. They review programs and make recommendations based on the needs of business, industry, and four-year colleges and universities; provide recommenda-tions on instructional resources; offer professional development opportunities; provide assis-tance with recruitment, job placement, and transfers; determine the educational and training needs of the community; and provide scholarships or other gifts to support students or enhance programs.
